About Me
I’m Jessica Morrison, the Founder of JMorrison College Advising. I bring over a decade of experience helping students and families navigate high school, college admissions, scholarships, and postsecondary planning with confidence and clarity. My background spans K–12 education, higher education, college and career counseling, and educational leadership, giving me a deep understanding of both the academic and personal side of the college planning journey.
Throughout my career, I have worked directly with students from a wide range of backgrounds and aspirations — supporting them as they explored colleges, developed meaningful high school experiences, crafted strong applications, and identified pathways aligned with their goals and strengths. As the former Director of Career & College Counseling at Animas High School, I designed and led a comprehensive college and career advising program that helped students increase their access to college, strengthen application outcomes, and build confidence in planning for life after high school. I also created parent programs and workshops focused on college preparation, financial aid, scholarships, and admissions planning to help families feel informed and supported throughout the process.
My approach to college advising is relationship-centered, practical, and highly personalized. I understand that every student’s path is different, and I believe families deserve thoughtful guidance that reduces stress and brings clarity to what can often feel like an overwhelming process. I work closely with students to help them identify their strengths, stay organized, develop confidence, and make informed decisions about their future.
In addition to my student advising experience, my broader work in education leadership, nonprofit development, and strategic planning has allowed me to collaborate with school districts, higher education institutions, nonprofits, and workforce partners across Colorado and beyond. Through JMorrison Education, I have facilitated educational initiatives, professional learning, and student-centered programs to improve college and career readiness outcomes for students and communities.
I hold a Master of Arts in Education Leadership from Fort Lewis College and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Bloomsburg University. Over the years, my work has been recognized through state and regional awards for college and career advising, student support, and educational leadership.
Above all, I am passionate about helping students and families feel supported, empowered, and prepared as they navigate important decisions about the future. My goal is to make the college planning process feel more manageable, more personalized, and ultimately more meaningful for every student I work with.
